Brighton (UK), February 2010 - ELearning Development Company of the Year, Brightwave, has been selected as an approved supplier for the public-sector eLearning framework, Buying Solutions, which aims to improve value for money and efficiencies. This means that UK public-sector organisations can commission eLearning without having to repeat burdensome procurement and assessment exercises, with the assurance that Brightwave meets the highest standards and delivers excellent value.
Brightwave is amongst a small number of suppliers appointed via the rigorous selection process. The company creates engaging and high-quality bespoke eLearning programmes, as well as 'ready-to-use' learning and performance services for specific training needs and sectors. One example is the Local Government ELearning Service, which is the only tailored Local Government service available via Buying Solutions.
The Local Government ELearning Service is currently being implemented by a group of Clyde Valley councils (Clyde Valley Learning and Development Group - CVLDG). The CVLDG has made considerable cost efficiencies for each council due to the collaborative approach in procurement and implementation. Brightwave is also working with the Home Office, Glasgow City Council, and the Healthcare Commission.
According to new research by Hays, the leading recruiting expert, Buying Solutions and Brightwave are meeting current public-sector needs, as 69 per cent of public-sector managers believe the private sector has a role in helping the public sector meet its obligations. Furthermore, 63 per cent are already being encouraged to look outside the public sector for solutions to management and delivery problems.

At a time of public spending cuts, this framework will bring real savings by simplifying the procurement process and enabling our customers to access the very best suppliers with ease."

All approved suppliers comply with statutory and legislative compliance and offer real value for money - something that's becoming increasingly vital as the UK adapts to forthcoming budget cuts."
Buying Solutions is an Executive Agency of the Office of Government Commerce in the Treasury. As the national procurement partner for UK public services, Buying Solutions enables customers to improve value for money and efficiency. In April 2009, Buying Solutions rebranded from OGCbuying.solutions.
