Save the date! Languages & The Media 2026
4 – 6 November 2026 | Senate House, London, UK
We are delighted to announce that the 16th edition of Languages & The Media will take place from 4 to 6 November 2026 at Senate House, University of London - a landmark venue in one of the world’s most vibrant and multicultural cities.
Under the theme “Moving Images That Move Audiences: Localising with Intent”, this international event will once again bring together a diverse community of accessibility professionals, researchers, technology providers, and content creators to reflect on the deeper purpose and societal impact of our work.
At a time of profound change in media and localisation, Languages & The Media 2026 will provide space to ask the big questions:
What is the real value of what we do?
How can we ensure sustainability, quality, and care in an industry shaped by accelerating demands and technological disruption?
Is it time to slow down - and refocus?
Building on the momentum of our last gathering in Budapest, where industry leaders called for a more human-centred approach, the 2026 conference will continue to explore the responsibilities we share - towards audiences, creators, and one another. Join us in London for three days of forward-looking conversations, expert panels, hands-on workshops, and valuable networking opportunities.

Languages & The Media 2024 in Brief
For the first time in its 28-year history, Languages & The Media ventured beyond Berlin, hosting its latest edition in the enchanting city of Budapest, Hungary. This change of venue marked not only a fresh chapter for the conference but it also served as a milestone that reinforced its status as the go-to event for the media localization and accessibility community.
The vibrant atmosphere of the event mirrored the dynamic discussions taking place in plenary sessions, panels, and workshops. As with every edition, Languages & The Media 2024 upheld its reputation as the go-to event for media localization and accessibility with its diverse audience of accessibility professionals, researchers, content producers and the technology providers.
Conversations throughout the event reflected the emergence of AI-driven workflows, tools, methodologies, and ethics, and led to discussions on what these new developments meant for the future of the localization industry and the different stakeholders with different interests.
Languages & The Media 2024 also brought back several ‘firsts’ from the last Berlin edition. Among these was the conference app, which made networking both fun and easy with its Tinder-like swipe feature. AI-assisted live captioning, provided by AI-Media also made its return, along with a possible new tradition: an exclusive networking dinner hosted at one of Hungary’s most esteemed restaurants, showcasing the country’s local cuisine. All contributed to the largest and most successful edition of Languages & The Media to date. The conference welcomed over 460 participants from 48 countries and 6 continents, including more than 120 speakers, along with an extensive lineup of exhibitors and sponsors. The shift to Budapest was a resounding success, infusing the event with fresh energy and excitement, and drawing enthusiastic feedback from attendees.
